Aceh dan Kerajaan Inggris Sepakat Bangun Hubungan Perdagangan Seperti Masa Lalu

Theacehpost.com | ACEH BESAR – Aceh dan Kerajaan Inggris sepakat untuk memperkuat hubungan kerja sama, khususnya di bidang perdagangan, seperti yang pernah dilakukan ratusan tahun lalu di masa-masa Kerajaan Aceh.

Kesepahaman seperti dibincangkan antara Wali Nanggroe Aceh Paduka Yang Mulia Tgk. Malik Mahmud Al Haythar, saat menerima kunjungan Penasehat Politik Kedutaan Besar (Kedubes) Inggris untuk Indonesia, Sam Perkins, di Meuligoe Wali Nanggroe, Aceh Besar, Selasa, 23 April 2024.

Katibul Wali Nanggroe, Muhammad Diwarsyah mengatakan, pada pertemuan itu, Sam Perkins didampingi Ramon Sevilla selaku Political Officer Kedubes Inggris untuk Indonesia, sementara Wali Nanggroe didampingi Staf Khusus DR. M. Raviq.

Sam mengatakan, ini merupakan kunjungan pertama kali ke Aceh dirinya sejak bertugas di Indonesia. Ia mengaku kagum dengan pengetahuan Wali Nanggroe yang sangat mendalam mengenai sejarah hubungan diplomatik dan perdangangan antara Aceh dengan negara-negara di Eropa, khususnya dengan Kerajaan Inggris.

“Saya pulang dengan pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang sejarah, pentingnya hubungan antara kedua negara. Saya berada di sini selama seminggu untuk belajar tentang Aceh, dan mengeksplorasi cara-cara untuk memperdalam kemitraan kita,” kata Sam.

Dari sejarah yang pernah terjadi, Sam yakin bahwa ke depan akan mampu mengembangkan kemitraan yang lebih jauh, baik untuk kepentingan masyarakat Aceh dan Inggris, masyarakat secara global, untuk kemakmuran dan perdamaian.

“Bagian dari sejarah yang kita bicarakan hari ini adalah hubungan bisnis perdagangan,” kata Sam.

Hubungan yang pernah terjalin tersebut telah membawa kepada kemitraan yang erat. Pihaknya, memiliki komitmen untuk memastikan bahwa Aceh dan Kerajaan Inggris dapat mengembangkan hubungan perdagangan untuk mendukung bisnis dan infrastruktur.

Sementara itu, Wali Nanggroe menambahkah bahwa hubungan antara Aceh dan Kerajaan Inggris telah terbangun sejak masa Ratu Elizabeth I. Ia berharap akan ada lebih banyak investor dari Kerajaan Inggris yang datang ke Aceh di masa depan.

“Kami juga berharap demikian,” kata Sam. []
